This document explains how to automatically insert counting macros in tags in order to count clicks in a campaign. 

  1. Select 'HTML Code' and insert the tag in the text box.
  2. The option “Insert counting macros in tag” will automatically become active.
  3. Click OK.

Important

The tag must not contain any previous modification in order to be recognized by this tool.

 

Once the tag is loaded, the system will notify so, and the following information will show on the Ad View screen:

Tag ad server provider: It shows the name of the adserver where the tag comes from

Macros: Click macros have been replaced in ad/ Click and impression macros have been replaced in ad (If a Mediamind tag was added)



In order to visualize the modified tag with the inserted macros click on 'Edit' from the Ad View screen:

 

In case the option “Insert counting macros in tag” is disabled, the macros won´t be replaced when the tag is loaded and the Ad View screen will display as follows:

 

In case the option “Insert counting macros in tag” does not apply because the tag is not recognized, the macros won´t be replaced and a warning will appear to add them manually.

When the tag is loaded and the Ad View screen will display as follows:

*IMPORTANT NOTE! - Sizmek (MEDIAMIND)

To count impressions for Sizmek (Mediamind) tags, it is necessary to add an extra macro:

var gEbBAd = new Object();
gEbBAd.strNImpUrl = '$IMPTRACKURL';

If this macro is not added, the ad will not register impressions at all.
