Suspicious Clicks
Suspicious or fraudulent clicks are those which were not generated by users who were genuinely interested in an advertising campaign, and sometimes it is even considered that they were not made by real users.
To detect them and/or exclude them from a campaign’s yield analysis, you can consult 2 preset reports > Global:
Suspicious clicks by campaign and space by date
Suspicious clicks by campaign and space by date and time
Both reports will include the following columns:
• Date (and time)
• Campaign
• Space
• Impressions
• Unique Users
• Distinct IPs
• Clicks
• Yield (CTR)
• Unique Clicks
• Clicks per unique user
• Unique IPs for clicks
• Clicks per unique IP
E.g.:
Suspicious clicks by campaign and space by date
This report, which is itemized by date, shows relevant data such as Unique Clicks and (Total Registered) Clicks. On the first row, we can observe that out of 114 clicks, only 1 unique click was registered. This indicates that a unique user clicked 114 times. On the following row, 123 clicks were registered, and only 3 were unique clicks, which translates in an average of 41 clicks by user.
In both examples, you can consider that there were repetitions of clicks by the same user, which is unlikely, since it is estimated that a unique user can click on ads that belong to the same campaign maximum twice.
