Creating/Adding Spaces

Creating/Adding Spaces

To generate Spaces in the system, you should access the following route: Inventory/Spaces/Ad.

Please note that the information which is highlighted in red must be completed:

1. Site:
You must indicate to which site the space to be generated will belong.

2.1 Zone:
You must specify to which zone the space to be generated will belong.

2.2 Subzone (optional):
If the site’s zones have subzones, you must indicate to which subzones the space to be generated will belong.

3. Name:
Please enter a descriptive name which allows you to identify the space easily. This will also facilitate the process of the reports analysis.

The names of zones and spaces created in e-planning should only contain letters from A to Z of the Roman alphabet and also numbers from 0 to 9. If the names contain spaces or other characters (for instance: Header 468, Header-468-60), you will not be able to use AJAX tags for those zones or spaces.

4. Size:
Please specify the type of space.

Fixed: This size option allows you to upload ads of a determined pixel dimension. You must specify the dimension in pixels (width per height). For example, some of the standard sizes are 120 x 60; 468 x 60; among others. (You can obtain more information if you visit http://www.iab.net/standards/adunits.asp). This also accepts ads that are shown over the page content, that is, Pops-unders, Pop-ups or Layers.

Invisible: It is used to show Layers (floating ads), Pop-ups and Pop-unders (new navigation windows that are specifically opened to show an ad, over or under the actual window). It is not necessary to enter the dimension.

Variable: It accepts ads of any dimension by adapting its size to the campaign’s ad. If this option is selected, you must indicate the suggested measures in order to avoid the association of ads with measures that do not correspond to the position.
Because this is a suggested size, it is also possible to upload ads with other sizes or expandable ads.

Text: This allows you to post Text Links, such as those currently used in search engines. A text link is simply a phrase with a link. This option does not allow images or HTML codes.

Once the type of space selection has been made, you should complete the following additional information:

5. Maximum ad weight:
By default, e-planning accepts up to 80 KB (80,000 bytes) for traditional creatives. However, the accepted ads’ weight can be further limited.

Rich Media creatives do not have a weight limit.

 6. Limit types of accepted ads:
This option allows the selection of formats that could be uploaded to the space that is being created. If in the space shown in the example a JPEG ad is to be uploaded, the system will show an alert saying that there are no enabled spaces for that format.
However, if “Flash” is selected, you can also specify the ad’s Actionscript and Flash version.

7. URL:
Please enter the URL that contains the space. You can enter the URL that was specified when you added the Site or it can be modified.

8. Open Link on New Window:
If you wish the linked page in an ad to open on a new window when the user clicks on the ads of campaigns assigned to this space, you should mark the specific box. This specification is the one that the system will keep as default each time you associate a campaign to a space. However, it could be modified in any new campaign you create (by going to the “Edit Spaces” option). Therefore, two or more campaigns that belong to the same space could have different behaviors.
