Temporal Targeting

Temporal Targeting

On the Add campaign page, you find the option “Scheduling,” where you can choose the period(s) when the campaign should be active.

Begin and end dates

With this option you can select the date and time when the campaign should begin and end.

You can type the date or select it from the calendar that appears on the right.

The time consists of three parts: Hour:Minutes:Seconds (16:30:00).

You should pay attention to the platform’s time (you can find it next to the User’s name, at the top right side of the screen). This time corresponds to the location of the e-planning’s server used by your account.
If you log on to the region:
  • United States: the time is GMT -5 (Summer time) or GMT -6 (not Summer time).
  • Europe: the time is GMT +2.
  • Argentina: the time is GMT -3.

This is the time to which the campaigns and ads will respond. Therefore, if you are located in Chile and your account belongs to the US server, you will have to calculate the time difference.
If you need a campaign to start at 10:00:00 (Chile’s time), you must set 08:00:00 in the platform.

Multiple begin and end dates

This option is used in cases where the campaign runs in uninterrupted periods.

Taking into account the same specifications described in the previous option, you must complete the different periods in which you would like the campaign to be active.
You can also specify how many actions (impressions/clicks/conversions) you would like to deliver in each period. This last specification is optional.

In cases where you need to enter a large amount of data, you can upload a CSV file with the information organized as follows:
  • Separate data with tabs or commas.
  • Complete one line per period.
  • If one interval must fulfill a total number of actions, all intervals should have an assigned total number of actions to be fulfilled.

For example:

Begin and End Dates with Weekly Timetable

This option is useful to carry out the timetable targeting method:

You should select a beginning and an end. Then, you should choose the time slots on the days that you would like the campaign to be active.

Ads

On the Add ad page, you find the possibility of targeting each ad to its beginning and end, and to a weekly timetable.

Begin and End Day and Time

To the right side of the space(s) where you are going to run the ad, you can specify when it should begin and when it should end on that particular space.

*At least they should begin on the date that the campaign is assigned to start.

Weekly Timetable

You can also target your ads according to a timetable for each day of the week:

It is important to remember that, as with all targeting methods, you cannot contradict the targeting data between the campaign and its ads.

The first targeting method is established at the campaign level. And inside that targeting you can sub-target the ad.

If a campaign runs from Monday to Thursday, you cannot target an ad to be displayed from Friday to Sunday. The possible options here would be to choose to run the ad only on Mondays, or on any other available day set for the campaign.
