Viewability - Activation
Viewability (Viewable Impressions) is an online advertising metrics that indicates whether an ad impression was actually seen by the user. A viewable impression is that which is rendered for a certain period of time in a visible part of the browser window.
An ad will be considered as “viewed” upon these conditions:-50% of the banner must be visible.
-The ad must be at least 1 second in a visible area.
Other considerations:
- This funtionality only works with AjaxV4 codes.
- This funtionality works with any third-party tag (Either with Fixed or Variable upload).
- For e-planning tags exported as third-party tags (Sync Ajax V4 code), this functionality only applies when the tag is loaded to the other ad server in a synchronic way.
If the load is dynamic, it will only work if the iframe breaker parameter is indicated (this must be provided by the other ad server where the e-planning tag will be loaded).
It will not work when there is more than one ad server in the process, that is: Ad server 1 > Ad server 2 > e-planning
- For formats that may include different creatives, only the main one is considered (the creative associated to the space of reference). Example: Triple, Multiple or Quintuple Impact, etc.
Metric Activation
Viewable impressions are enabled on the “campaign” level. This option is on the campaign creation/edition form:

IMPORTANT! This option is only available in accounts with active Rich Media service. All the impressions recorded as 'Viewable', from standard campaigns, will be charged with a differential price. In Rich Media campaigns, these 'Viewable' impressions will not entail an additional difference as they will be contemplated in the already arranged price for Rich Media. Billing example: Viewed Impressions are enabled in a standard campaign that generates in the end a total of 10 million impressions of which 1 million are VIEWED impressions. How are those impressions billed? 9 million will be charged with standard price and the rest (1 million) will be charged with the differential price set for viewed impressions. This means that if the action is recorded as viewed impression it will not we counted again as standard/traditional impression. It will not be counted twice.
