Third-Party Adserver Tag Implementation

This documents explains how to implement third-party adservers tags.

Once the campaign is created, click on 'Import Ad Server Tag':

To configure the ad correctly, it is important to define the following parameters:

Format:  With the exception of VAST tags where the form may be adjusted, the selection of the 'Format' does not affect the ad as the system will execute the format as it was loaded originally.

Size (in píxels):

  • Variable size: Select this option when the ad has a variable size. Example: Expandable, Layer, Rich Media ads.

  • Fixed size with dynamic load (preset option): Recommended option for fixed size ads.

  • Fixed size without dynamic load: Not recommended option. (Select this option only if the tag has low visibility with dynamic load).

IMPORTANT

For sites with code Ajax V4 implemented. When loading third-party tags of variable size (expandable, layer, etc), you must ask the agency/advertiser to send tags with a javascript variable that allows the content be displayed outside the Iframe (Variable Iframe Breaker).

Then, in order to implement the tag inside the form, you may select “HTML code” or “File name”:

E-planning recommends the option 'HTML code':

In case you select the option 'File name' the file (.txt or similar) must be loaded:

Counting Macros

A third-party tag load implies counting impressions only unless you modify the tag to count clicks as well. This is known as 'Counting Macros'.

In e-planning, Counting Macros are used in 2 ways:

- Counting macros automatic insertion (If the provider is contemplated in the functionality).

- Manual Macros Insertion (If the tag belongs to a provider not integrated to the Automatic Insertion).

Once this step has been carried out (with any option previously mentioned) click on “Accept” to accept the tag load.
