Custom Actions

This functionality allows the user to customize metrics. Apart from the preestablished options (Start Ad, Complete Ad, Close Ad, Play Video, Stop Video, Fold/Unfold Banner Area, Share, etc.), custom metrics can be created for any type of Rich Media ad.
You must define the actions to be measured in the creative, which should be already programmed.
The following example shows 3 clickable areas, one for each car model:

It is possible to generate up to 10 measurements per ad and there is no cost to add them up.

In order to implement them, you must follow the following steps:

1) Request the Custom Metrics of the ad by sending a ticket to the Rich Media Support area.

2) Deliver the usual material. Also, please indicate the buttons that you would like to measure, what each button will measure, and the names that each of the measurements will have.

E.g.: 3 Custom Metrics should be included in the attached creative. The actions to be measured are the following:
- “fascinating”: it activates when the user clicks on the green model.
- “elegant”: it activates when the user clicks on the blue model.
- “powerful”: it activates when the user clicks on the black model.

3) The Rich Media Development team will program the requested creative and will connect each metric to the specified button/action, using the defined names.

4) The creatives are uploaded in the same way as the RM ads are loaded, depending on the ad’s format.

In the ad view, the custom metrics will be listed under “Name of custom action”:

In the Edit Ad tab, there will appear an additional field on the “Edit Ad Attributes” page of the interface. The requested metrics will be shown under “Custom Actions”, and it will be possible to edit the names if needed:

It will only be possible to modify the names of the measurements, which will later appear on the reports. What is measured in each metric cannot be modified from the interface once they have been programmed.

How Are Metrics Visualized in Reports?

You will be able to visualize the Custom Metrics in the campaign’s Reports, from the “Interaction” tab. They will be listed under the name of “Custom Actions”.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The counting of custom metrics is done by Unique User, i.e., the action will only be registered once per user, even though there existed several actions performed by the user.

E.g.: If the custom metric is applied in one of the models of the car in the example above and the user clicks 4 times, it will be registered only 1 time (the first one).

The measurement that registers the main banner area contained in the clickTag1 is different (it refers to the main click-through URL set in the ad). In this case, every click will be counted.
